As a result of which I am unable to access a single data stored in the hard drive. I have an important presentation to make next week and all the data is stored in the hard drive only. There is no backup and I really don’t know what to do. Can anybody help me out?

As far as I think, the above mentioned error message might be due to some kind of corruption in the NTFS file system of your Windows XP operating system. I would advise you to reinstall the Windows XP operating system. In most of the cases, the problem is sorted out and you would then be able to access the data. Alternatively, you can run the CHKDSK command that would repair the corrupted files and help you in accessing the data. If the problem persists, then the solution to the problem is Windows XP Data Recovery software. The software makes use of high sophisticated scanning methods and would restore all the deleted data. The recovered data would get stored to a new location at any of your specified location on the hard drive. You can use the software with the other versions of Windows OS like Vista, Seven, 2003 etc and runs on all kinds of file system like FAT32, FAT16 including the NTFS file system.
