Can I transfer iPod files to PC?

I have a huge collection of songs in my iPod and whenever I get time I enjoy them as I carry it wherever I go and others in my house scarcely get time to listen songs, so I thinking to copy all iPod songs to system so that any one can listen them, is it possible.
