How to Fix “Incompatible File System” Error Message in CF Memory Card ?

I have a Sigma SD14 digital camera with a 2GB CF memory card in it. Today while I was taking some snaps, all of a sudden the camera freezed. When I switched on the camera and tried to access the photos that I had taken recently, then to my shock, I was getting the following error message; “Incompatible File System” and after that I was unable to access a single photo. Can anybody explain it to me why such a thing happened and is there any way through which I am able to access the photos as the photos are really very close to me.

Thanks in Advance..!!!

As far as I think, the main reason for the error message is due to the fact that the battery was low which made the camera freeze. You should know that when you take a snap, then the photo is not immediately written in the memory card but takes few seconds. In this due course of reading and writing the photos, if the camera shuts down all of a sudden, then the process is not completed and hence the photos does not get stored in the memory card but is there in it. If the worse happens, the other photos can get damaged making the photos stored in your camera inaccessible and hence you are getting the aforesaid error message.

I can only advise you to format your memory card which would fix the problem. But you should remember that formatting the memory card though would solve your problem but would delete all the photos stored in the card. Formatting is the only option available at the present and if you are really resolute in getting back your photos, I would advise you to use Stellar Phoenix Photo Recovery tool. It would easily retrieve the deleted photos and would restore it to its actual place. Get the trial version first to recover the photos and once you see that it works, then you can switch over to its full version.
