How to rectify ‘reserved fields in the catalog records have incorrect data’ error message of Mac?

I have been working with Mac systems for quite a long time. I am using Mac OS X 10.6 and faced not a single issue. But from couple of days my system is behaving abnormally and it restarts at periodic intervals. Last night I got an error messages which says ‘reserved fields in the catalog records have incorrect data’. I don’t what this error is all about. When I tried to run the Disk Utility it says the disk can not be fixed. I am totally blank about this error and don’t know what to do? Please help me to resolve this issue, any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Did you upgrade your system with any third-party disk management or disk repair utility? If yes, then that’s the reason why your system is behaving abnormally. This type of problem occurs when newer version of application is incompatible with the version of Mac OS X is being installed. And error message is flashing due to corruption of the file system, catalog files, deletion of the registry keys and other Macintosh operating system issues.
In order to resolve this issue first un-install the installed program and then restore the current valid backup if it is available. But if the backup is unavailable or damaged then simply use the Data Recovery Mac software to recover the deleted, lost and corrupted files and store it in a safe and secure place.
