If you think that the pictures loaded on the system are very important to retrieve then instead of formatting the card. Check the following: Firstly, Camera is better charged or not, If it is not then charge it. May in full charge condition the card error will not come. Secondly, may because of lock slider error is appearing. So, remove protecting the slider and then put in the card inside the camera.
