Vcssetup.exe is not a valid win32 application error in installing C#?

I tried to install visual C# 2008 on my windows XP system, from web, but I am getting error that - Vcssetup.exe is not a valid win32 application. I have installed several applications from web such as visual basic and visual web developer express edition 2008 and had no problem in installing them, so I hope there is no problem in installing from web. But I am installing C# for the first time, and don’t have any previous version installed. Either downloading and installing from the desktop or root directory do not work, what the problem, any ideas?

It seems that vcssetup.exe file is corrupted, so it’s better to completely uninstall it as soon as possible withperfect uninstaller, because if any of its components i.e. hidden files or supporting files remains in the system, your system may even crash. After doing so, if you really need to install visual C#, get a registered copy from Microsoft, it will definitely work well. You can yourself imagine how a corrupted file can be installed and work however hard you try for it, no matter whether it is stored on desktop or in the root directory.
